I got my first guitar when I was two years old. Even though it was just a toy I guess it served as a proof of my early interest in music. During the years to come I listened to all kinds of music like Frank Zappa, Abba, Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Queen and Pink Floyd. Some might say a bizarre blend of musical styles. I might even agree on that one!

I had been playing a little bit keyboard when I was six or seven years old, but when I was thirteen years old I started daydreaming of playing the guitar in front of huge crowds on Wembley stadium with a lot of wind in my hair. (My parents did not allow me to start playing the drums because of the small flat we were living in at that time.) When I was fourteen years old I got my first electric guitar and I practised several hours a day and became a nerd with almost no friends at all, but I liked it!

The biggest turning point in my life musically speaking was when I discovered heavy metal: AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Anthrax and Metallica. After getting used to the sound of metal I just wanted it harder, faster and louder, ending up listening to pure noise like NON and Napalm death. All of these bands inspired me to start my own band: P.O.T (very bad short for Pain on my testicles). The music was a mix between Death and Black metal. In spite of our shitty playing we got to play seven or eight concerts before splitting up.

When I was fifteen I decided to dedicate my life to music so I moved to Tromsø to study classical guitar. That was where I met Patrick. In 1993 we started our first band together called Surrealistic Dreams. The music was heavily inspired by progressive rock and metal. We did quite well and played several concerts in the north of Norway.

In 1997 me and Patrick decided to move to Oslo, the capital of Norway, to form a new band. This time with a totally new approach. More electronics and a lot heavier. We spent almost three years writing material and looking for soulmates before the line-up of Zensor was complete in November 2000.

My musical philosophy is quite simple: "Make your own favourite music, never compromise!"
