Patrick was born in Munic, Germany. His mother studied physiotheraphy and his father worked on a sattelite station. In 1980 his parents moved back to Tromsų, Norway.

Music came into Patrick“s life at age eight, when his father bought him a
guitar. But after a few months he quit. At this point superheroes, army gear, wargames, drawing and soccer were much better than learning impossible boring chords. But he loved listening to music, and three years later he discovered heavy metal. His life was about to change. It started with Bon Jovi, but he soon went on to harder and more extreme music: Anthrax, Metallica, Celtic Frost, Helloween and Manowar ++..anything with heavy drums and distorted guitars. Patrick wanted to be able to play like his long haired idols and returned to the guitar. This time very inspired and determined. During high school he spent most evenings at home practising. "I wanted to be the best guitar player in the world, and I made friends with others sharing this ambition. We inspired eachother and we had a kind of competition, though noone would admit it.", he recalls.

Through guitar lessons Patrick was introduced to other musical styles. In contemporary school he studied music. This is were he met Glenn, which soon became a close friend. In 1992 they formed a band with Jon Thomas, Christen and Tony. The band was called Arachnophobia. After a while someone realized this was a lousy name for a band, and they changed to Surrealistic Dreams(which was a better name at that point). Surrealistic Dreams split up in 1996, when Glenn and Patrick decided to leave Tromsų and move to Oslo. They formed Spite, which played one show(known as the "Eddie the Eagle-concert"). This band broke up late 1997, and after the splitup Patrick and Glenn decided start a new project. A band that it took about three years to establish, but their patience seems to have paid off.
