This was a last minute booking to make the MIRR production get at least two gigs in Norway before we all went separate ways. The event was organized by the Redemption goth club, who provided the extra PA needed to make this show at all possible. Lights had not been specified too clearly, and we had to make due without any, which made this all slightly intimate together with the size of the place and the low stage. Rather few attendants showed, but that just fueled our desire to make a massive effort for those who did - including a newly wed couple and some guy with a blinking santa cap, slightly standing out between lace and pvc, but bridging the gap with plenty of drink. Which we tried too, to some extent, with whiskey and beer on stage.
When we set off, we were hoarded in by metal heads in front, air guitars at the ready. And we're sorry to say, we did smile on stage on a few occasions during play. It was all just too darn cozy. The
mike holder broke on Intimat, as did Sakari's voice, but it was still an ok set and we were rather content considering circumstances. The organizers were pleased and proved this further by showing at our next gig in Oslo.
The worst part was the all night drive home – especially for our Swedish friends. Some sweet taste to it still, seeing that MIRR was finally over and done with.
