Always a good place to visit – Tribute has shown us great hospitality before and made no less of an effort this time, with a slightly better back-stage added. Sine Martin wasn't booked for this part of the tour, we were happy to get assistance from the local crew on lights, which worked just fine for this small venue.
Posters didn't get around in time to do much promotion, so the scanty crowd was foreseen. This was small scale, up front and intense – a pub job with just those expectations, emphasized – if not mirrored - by a roaring drunk santa on the street outside, picking up chicks and failing miserably at that. At this gig, the hanging out part was perhaps the important one, with plenty of liquor and good talk to go with it – which perhaps is why the Tribute gigs seem so grand, referring of course to the hotel linen and breakfast to put you together the day after. Also, as the numbers did go in the red this night, it helps working with folks who knows when to apply a black marker and a forgiving smile.
